Exam Fear

The above image and the header of the article must have given you an insight of what the article is about.....Yes, it is about the most terrifying horror experience that all of us have experienced at some of the other points of our lives...Exam fear...and all the accompanying stressful psychological disorders like anxiety depressions and physical ailments like nausea vomiting headache.
But have we ever thought that what is it that we fear...is it exams? The answer is ..NO...we do not fear exams...we fear the embarrassment and unfavourable conditions that we would have to face if we perform poorly in examinations.....This has actually made us think many times that it would be better if there were no examinations....but that is an improbable idea perhaps..because any learning procedure whether it is academic or not essentially requires some assessment procedure to know how far we have learnt the skill....so exam is a must..but what we need to understand is that it is no evil....now if the purpose of examination was made clear to us from day 1..since the first day we were children and started taking exams then all these mishaps could have been prevented....all we need to know and realise is that we need to fear only FEAR ITSELF and nothing else...now if we just tilt our outlook a bit and consider exams as just another adventure sport like thrilling challenge...it would be far easy to tackle....all you have to do is persist yourself to study through the entire term instead of piling things up for the last minute....and the night before exam would be a much less stressful experience and trust me if you get a liitle bit less than your classmate....nobody on earth will remember that after a few years....
Now here are a few lines of advice to parents...because mostly it is our parents who make this exam thing no less than a phobia for us whether knowingly or unknowingly.........
To dear parents,
Marks are no doubt important but hold far less important than we attach to them.....people who are really successful in lives set examples that numbers in report card mattered really less than knowing how to tackle real-life problems...scolding your children will not actually help but terrify them ..instead encouraging them will help far better...Try to make academics and exam an enjoyable experience for your ward....please remember getting fewer marks will make them no less human or no less good in their lives...
