Dear,
Do you remember the nights?
The night when our arresting eyes first met and we were lost in elegance?
The night when you laid your head on my bosom and counted my fragile heartbeats?
The night when I peeled my soul to you bit by bit till you knew all of me.
The night when you held my hand and promised me a “forever”?
The night when our bodies melted in each other’s arms and we were drowned in passion?
The night when I left all my tears on your skin each one worth more than a prayer?
The night when you walked away from me and never looked back?

Dear,
Did you ever know how much the fading sound of your footsteps walking away from me tore me apart?
Did you ever know the fire and enigma I possess between the quiet spaces of my ribs?
Did you ever know how much I loved you?

Perhaps you don’t.
Perhaps you never wanted to know.
Perhaps you never meant you're beautiful forever.
Perhaps you took me just like any other leisure of yours.
Perhaps together was what we were never meant to be.
Perhaps the unicorns that I drew on the wall of my dreams were never meant to be blessed with the power of flight.
Perhaps sometimes “alone” is what the best place to be.
